What to Bring

Approved Clothing and Personal Items

Each resident has limited space for clothing and personal items; these will be stored in an assigned chest-of-drawers and an assigned section of a shared closet. ESR understands that some clients come with little to no personal items (especially those coming to us straight from incarceration); for those men, we network with other agencies and churches to help fulfill immediate needs.

Below are suggestions for what a resident could bring with him; again, room for clothing & personal items is limited:

  • 5 pairs of pants and/or jeans (This includes appropriate pants for work.)
  • 5 pairs of shorts (at least knee length)
  • 7 shirts: dress/collared shirts, t-shirts, & sweatshirts (This includes appropriate shirts for work.) Tank tops are NOT allowed.
  • 2 pairs of workout/exercise pants
  • 2 belts and/or suspenders
  • 2 hats and/or caps
  • 2 pairs of pajamas/lounge pants
  • 1 house robe and bed shoes (if desired)
